What is this qualification about?
The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018) replace the 17th Edition on 2nd July 2018. BS7671:2018 will apply to new installations from 1st January 2019.
This Certificate ensures you are up-to-date with the latest industry regulation on wiring and the safe use and operation of electrical equipment and systems. These regulations are recognised by the British Standards Institute as a British Standard (BS7671).
Who is it for and why is this important to me?
Anyone who needs an understanding of electrical wiring (gas installers, kitchen fitters, plumbers and builders) must work to the 18th edition from January 2019.
Successful completion of this course will give you a competitive edge and show your customers that you are trained to the highest of standards and increase your credibility.
How long is the course?
3 days in total. The cost of the course includes training, assessment, the certification fee and a course manual as well as lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
How will I learn and be assessed?
The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations course involves classroom based training which focuses on the new wiring regulations standard BS7671:2018. There is no practical element.
Candidates will be required to complete a 60-question multiple choice online exam, which will cover both the existing regulations and the changes
Installations BS 7671:2008. The exam is ‘open book’ which means that throughout the duration of the two-hour exam, you will refer and use your 18th Edition book.
What do I need to bring to the course?
Candidates will require the new 18th Edition book and preferably the revised 18th Edition on-site guide.

Who is the certification body for this course?
This course is certificated by City & Guilds. Upon successful completion of the course and exam, you will receive a City & Guilds certificate approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the course date.
